An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at Occam Singers without having to regularly visit the website.
To make use of an RSS feed, you need some "feed reader" (or "aggregator") software. Most modern web browsers have feed readers built in.
The RSS feeds for Occam Singers are listed below...
We, the Occam Singers, are a chamber choir formed more than 40 years ago in Ockham (hence the name) but now based in Guildford. We are an auditioned choir and aim for a high standard in performing a wide range of music, both accompanied and a cappella. There are normally four concerts each year and we typically have six weeks of rehearsal prior to each concert. Singers are expected to work on the music at home to minimise the need to learn the notes in rehearsal. Rehearsals are held at 19:15 on Sunday evenings at Onslow Village Hall. Like many choirs, we have found it hard to recover from the pandemic and would love to recruit new members so that we can perform a wider range of repertoire. Our next concert will be on 16th December, 2023 and will consist of a festive sequence of seasonal music and readings. There will be carols to sing with the audience, choral pieces old and new, anniversaries celebrated, new voices heard, moments of reflection and celebration, and more than enough cheer to see us through the last days before Christmas arrives. If your current singing commitments allow, please do come along to our first rehearsal on 5th November. Our current Music Director, Nick O’Neill, will then inform you of the audition process. Nick was Assistant Music Director for some years and we were delighted to be able to welcome him back when David Gibson retired from the directorship last year after 41 years. Nick is an organist and a composer as well as a rock musician, board game reviewer and blogger, writing for various websites and magazines worldwide. Elsewhere on our website you can read even more of his impressive CV.
