Occam Singers are a 25-strong chamber choir based
in Guildford. We regularly perform in Guildford, London and the South East.
Our recent concerts have included
performances of HAYDN's Great Organ Mass, MONTEVERDI's 1641 Magnificat and VAUGHAN WILLIAMS' A Vision of
Aeroplanes. Patricia Rozario sang with us in 2005 on the occasion of our 25th Anniverary.
Almost all our concerts are fund-raising events for local and national charities:
"I want to say how wonderful the Concert was. I had not heard the Occam Singers before, and they were superb,
giving the music so much meaning. The Duruflé Requiem was so beautiful and very moving ... in particular the Kyrie ...
If the Occam Singers ever record that, do let me know. I particularly enjoyed the Poulenc Organ Concerto too.
What magnificent music - so many amazing sounds. It was an unforgettable evening. Will you thank everybody for
all the work they put into making it such a success, and in particular for your generosity to Holy Cross Hospital.
It is so much appreciated. Thank you."
We invite you to listen to tracks from our
CD Sing Joyfully.
The choir performs both with orchestra and a cappella (without accompaniment) and gave the world premieres of the specially
commissioned In Tenebris I, II and III by Nicholas O'NEILL (the first two included on the choir's CD). The choir is frequently hired to
sing for weddings (see our "weddings" page for more information).
